Fabricio Andrade could not capitalize the opportunity to win the Bantamweight title after he landed an illegal hard knee to John Lineker’s stomach that forced to end the fight in Round 3.
With Lineker already stripped from the title after missing weight, Andrade got out to a great start in Round 1, with Lineker struggling to maintain pace. Round 2 was completely opposite, with a more aggressive Lineker defending his territory with a few nice combos. However, a turning point at the end of the round when Andrade repeatedly connected in the final minute and left Lineker stunned.
Round 3 did not last. Andrade landed a hard knee to Lineker’s stomach that left him in the verge of defeat, but then threw a low blow that ultimately ended the fight.
